How Do I Get Started?

If possible go along to any road race meeting and speak to the riders and if they are not too busy an official, they will try to answer all your questions.

Decide the class you would like to take part in making sure the clubs you intend to race with cater for this class and that you are eligible, as a new rider you will hold a novice licence (see table below).

Join the Melville Motor Club, you will recieve the famous Green Book, it contains lots of information about racing at East Fortune. You will also recieve a novice licence application form, read carefully,  then send completed form to the Scottish Auto Cycle Union ( the address is on the form) they will then issue a licence.

 

Novice Licence :

Issued to all first time riders, rendering them eligible to race in the following classes (after Part 1 and Part 2 Training has been completed and your Licence has been signed). Contact the SACU telephone No. 01506 858354 for more information and dates.
